It's the Good News - Bad News edition of the league's power rankings. From best team to worst team:
1. Donny
Good News: Best draft pick so far for Patrick Mahomes. It's a QB-driven league, and Donny may have gotten the most impressive 1st-Year Starter QB since Kurt Warner. Donny has exceeded 100 points two weeks in a row, with not just help from Mahomes but from Mel Gordon and Mike Evans as well.
Bad News: Like the KC team in real life, Donny needs to shore up his defense. 2 points doesn't cut it, 25 other Defenses would have delivered Donny a week 2 win.
2. Justin
Good News: The Bear is back! Maybe the deepest team with potential flex starters 3 or 4-deep. Most pundits have overlooked Cam Newton so far this year, but he's actually 8th in points and has outscored Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
Bad News: I wish I had Justin's problem, he's kept OJ Howard on the bench and started Evan Engram, who doesn't have FitzMagic dealing to him.
3. Tuna
Good News: Non-Keepers have stepped up so far, elevating Tuna to 90+ points each game despite Kareem Hunt, Antonio Brown, and David Johnson each having a dud game to date. Tuna's round 7 pick of Rams defense was the best pick of round 7, and he went last!
Bad News: David Johnson's situation is a bit worrisome, and there's the Antonio Brown drama that could lead to bad karma down the road (but he'll feast this Sunday).
4. Kevin
Good News: Tyreek Hill is taking advantage of Mahomes' arm. Kevin is undefeated. As usual, he's been very efficient, ranking 2nd for managerial efficiency in the league. Leveon who?
Bad News: Word on the street is that the schedule is going to get a bit harder for Kevin. Has to play Justin twice in the next 4 weeks. QBs can be hot and cold.
5. Hai
Good News: Eeked out Donny by one point due to the Cowboys defense on Sunday night. Gift from PJ not picking up James Connor means Hai currently has the best 3 RB set in the league. I heard the other day that you should focus on starting players with upside this season, due to scoring explosion in the league. Hai has 8 players who have legit chances of scoring more than 20 points each week.
Bad News: Hai's QBs also have legit chances of giving him negative points. Managing WRs still tricky, Hai dodged a bullet by sitting Stephon Diggs last week.
6. Victor
Good News: 2-0, thanks to scheduling gods. After Justin, maybe the next best team in terms of player depth. Probably going to be a consistent opponent to face.
Bad News: In a season where upside means everything, Victor's team doesn't have the horses to challenge the top teams. As per history, Victor's team has a low efficiency score that can steal a few wins possibly. TE roster got decimated after week 1.
7. PJ
Good News: Aside from the week 2 waiver wire fiasco of Cook over Connor, PJ was able to buy into Fitzmagic by picking up Fitzpatrick and Desean. I think that press conference should be sent straight to Canton.
Bad News: That waiver wire fiasco was turri-ble. PJ had pole position and he wasted the pick on a TE instead of guaranteed 10-points James Conner. Then, TE Donald Cook, who he picked, was outscored by two free agent TEs that Victor picked up later.
8. Byron
Good News: FINALLY, Byron changed his team name and logo. Thumbs up for the ethnic flavor he put into the name. Kirk Cousins can explode for 30 points. Good set of Defenses on paper.
Bad News: Still some perplexing or rookie managing decisions after the draft. Benching a defense that's facing Buffalo? What's with keeping a TE from Buffalo? (Notice a trend here) Still carrying two kickers? At least it's not a Buffalo kicker.
9. Vu
Good News: Gronk can't possibly have two bad games in a row. Edelman, Ingram, and Goodwin coming back from suspension or injuries soon. Baker Mayfield showed signs of keeper-worthy promise last night.
Bad News: RBs are still iffy. Scrolling down the list of top RB/WR/TE performers, you'd have to get to #22 to see the first Tall Asian player.
10. Matt
Good News: Matt Breida is leading in rushing. Aaron Rodgers can play on one leg and he's facing the Redskins. Jarvis Landry going to get better balls to catch with Mayfield at QB.
Bad News: Needs more than the 5 transactions he does each year if he wants to improve this team. Defense pretty weak. This team will be the underdog whenever it plays. We may see a kicker drafted #1 overall next year.
