FADUCO Week 7 Rankings

Do any of you read the CBS Sports league recap that comes out on Tuesday/Wednesday? The CBS Bot "Fantasy Journalist" does a pretty good job recapping the games and throws random stat nuggets. It's one of the better new things CBS has given us this season for the website. I think I'm the only one who contributes to the fake interviews. So far, I've just given it quotes from the Bill Belichick school of interviewing, but may upgrade more to the Rex Ryan level of quotes if I can get a confirmation that it's just not me reading the recap. I hope Fantasy Journalist can expand its content to include weekly rankings one day. In the meanwhile, this week's rankings shall feature a guest mention of a certain QB for each ranking.

1. Victor. Peyton Manning returning to Indy on Sunday night. Peyton Manning pissed off at the Indy owner for dissing him. Peyton Manning saving his "A" plays from last week to use this week. It's just not the Peyton show for Victor, he does also have 2 of the top 3 scoring averages for running backs. The gap between Victor and the 2nd highest scoring team (Donny) is almost the same as the gap between Donny and the worst scoring team in the league.

2. Andrew. The curse of the #2. Whoever I ranked #2 this year has lost in the same week. Really, it's only a coincidence that Andrew is facing me this week. Andrew does have some assets to offset the Peyton Manning show, since he has Wes Walker. What he doesn't have is favor from the scheduling gods: his next 4 games including this week are against the top 4 scorers of the league not including him. Ooof.

3. Donny. Donny's team is 3-0 when Cam Newton scores more than 10 points and 0-3 when Cam scores 10 or less. Donny depends more on Cam than Victor leans on Peyton. This week, conditions are favorable for Cam and Donny is facing the two worst scoring teams in this week and next. Also, if you believe in defenses win championships, QBs win regular seasons like Jim Irsay, this is the team for you. That's a pretty positive outlook.

4. Bill. Tough week for Bill, having to face Victor and then getting Brees on the bye the following week. However, got good production from Russell Wilson, and Demaryius Thomas gets his turn to receive the bulk of Peyton's passes this week after having been overlooked last week. Also, Gronk!!!!

5. Kevin. Will Andrew Luck rise to the level of Peyton this Sunday? Kevin is certainly hoping for that game to be a shootout, because he's benching Phil Rivers vs. Jacksonville for Luck despite Rivers averaging about 4 points more per game. Maybe he's hoping San Diego gets a huge lead and uses Ryan Matthews more. Unlike previous years, Kevin's managing is questionable this year, ranking 9th in efficiency. Still, he usually torments PJ so a win should be expected this week.

6. Tuna. This team has scored in the 60s in 4 games this season so far. That's pretty good consistency at being mediocre. Tuna's QBs have been solid but unspectacular, as with his RBs. Not having any relationship to the Denver Peyton offense has hurt Tuna. The WRs have been non-existent, and it's pretty shocking that you won't find Andre Johnson until the second page for WR stats. I'm sure there are about 4 different trade offers for WRs floating out there from Tuna.

7. Lily. There's a big gap between the #6 spot and #7 spot. Basically, the next 4 teams have very little shot of the playoffs. I call them the Poor Four. Lily gets the #7 position out of these 4 teams only because of the momentum factor of winning 2 games in a row. She also at least has one WR that catches passes from Peyton, so that is another plus. However, going with a 3-WR offense when you don't have any in the top 12 scoring average is a bad sign of your offensive capabilities.

8. Hai. Yes, he has the worst record in the league at 1-5, but at least Hai has scored over 60 points in each of his last 4 games. No one else among the Poor Four can claim that. But this is one underachieving team. Hai is the worst manager in efficiency so far this season. He's still benching Justin Blackmon, who's only the leader in average WR scoring. Maybe things will get better once Hai returns to a country where they don't censor this blog. Or maybe he should stop voting against Peyton Manning in polls.

9. PJ. To his credit, PJ is still trying to improve his team through waiver wire pickups. Tom Brady gets Gronk back so is bound to improve. Especially for the week 12 matchup vs. Peyton. But PJ's WRs are still horrible now that Randall Cobb is injured, and so are his defenses. PJ should make some noise a week here and there, but there are too many gaps in the team to overcome.

10. Katy. After jumping to a 3-1 record, it's been a sudden free fall to the bottom. Two straight weeks of scoring less than 42 points and having a lot of injuries without roster pickups is a bad sign. It looks like another year of operating on the cheap for this franchise. Another demerit for allowing a team that already had Peyton Manning to pick up Nick Foles to stash in their bench. At least for this week, there are not bye issues for Team Katy.

Peyton Manning is mentioned in 9 out of the 10 rankings. Can the brown nosing get any worse?
