Given the current scoring setup, RBs and WRs don't contribute as much to scoring as a normal league where 10 yards gives you a point instead of 15. There's been some rumbling about changing the scoring next season to reflect more emphasis on yardage. An argument can be made that teams shouldn't just succeed because of a stud QB and Defense and little else.
On the flip side, our league does employ conventional scoring for defenses, so defenses matter more than in a standard league. One can argue that FADUCO's scoring reflects real-life football more so we shouldn't change the yardage points and de-emphasize defense.
With the probable departure of one owner, there may exist a chance to revisit the scoring rules. Two owners who were proponents of de-emphasizing yardage will have left the league since the last time the yardage scoring was changed. I'll post a survey in the FADUCO site to guage people's reactions. Now on to this week's rankings
The 1%
1. Bill
Vincent Jackson won't face a competent pass defense till week 12, which helps offset MJD's injury
The DC yuppies
2. Donny
6-1 is 6-1, and even if he hasn't exploded for mega points, has beaten Tuna twice.
3. Tuna
Aaron Rodgers now back to being the best fantasy QB. Won't face a scary pass defense until 1st round of playoffs (week 15).
4. Kevin
Survived a bye week of Ryan and great pickup of Vick Ballard for week 8.
The 47%
5. Lily
2nd week of Lily's bye weeks from hell, but she gets Hai so it's not as grave.
6. Victor
Finally got a win he didn't deserve to help make up for his bad luck earlier in the season.
7. PJ
Next 3 games are vs. teams that are a combined 16-5.
The Occupy DC crowd
8. Andrew
When it's Thursday and you see that Andrew hasn't changed his roster yet to take out bye week players, it may be another freebie for the week.
9. Hai
Hai's MUD score must be a record low (see below)
10. Katy
Put up a game fight vs. the league's omnipotent power, no rest with Tuna this week.
This week's MUD analysis. (10-5 record season to date*)
Victor (192) vs. Donny (153)
Peyton vs. Eli. Elder brother prevails this time. However, leaving RG3 on the bench can come back to bite Victor. Still, have to go with myself this week.
Hai (73) vs. Lily (188)
Hai's MUD score is the lowest so far this season, while Lily's is in the top 10%. Should be an easy one for Lily.
Andrew (129) vs. Bill (158)
Bill isn't going to lose this one, especially if Andrew gives him a free win.
Kevin (172) vs. PJ (110)
The numbers show Kevin, and as both have QBs facing tough matchups,I think Kevin's less-heralded RBs will come close if not outscore PJ's stud RBs. Kevin has the more favorable WR matchups. Kevin also specializes in passively tormenting his nephew.
Tuna (172) vs. Katy (116)
High-powered offense with high MUD score meets low-octane offense with low mud score. I'm really not trying to jinx Tuna with my prediction of a comfortable win.
* I was, however, trying to jinx Hai by predicting he'd beat me last week. So my predictive record is closer to 11-4.
