FADUCO 2013 Week 2 Rankings

Last year, Andrew took advantage of a nice draft to spring off his run to his first ever championship. This year, another playoffs underachiever may repeat that feat. Bill, Tuna, and PJ all had strong starts and all have good reason to like their team. Meanwhile, the rest of the Asians stumbled, though in Victor's case, it was more of a bad matchup and bad luck case. Here are the rankings:

1. PJ - Great pickup of the Patriots and veterans have came back stronger than expected from injuries. Not quite excited about the bench, so I'm still a bit on the fence in terms of having a man-crush on this team. We'll see how PJ's team holds up once byes start happening, but for now, he's king of the hill.

2. Bill - Maybe I was too harsh on my grade for Bill. This looks like the deepest team in the league so far. In week 1, if you had started Bill's bench instead, the team would have scored 92 points. This is not a case of poor managing since the starters gave him 86. This is going to help Bill during bye weeks, but there is some nagging fear that poor managing may come at the worst moment during the late season/playoffs.

3. Kevin - Great call in drafting Ryan with his first week. Week 2 has Ryan vs. Peyton in Atlanta. Can you say shootout? Four years ago, I actually traveled down to Atlanta to watch the Broncos beat Ryan in his rookie season. Tickets may be a bit harder to come by for this game. Kevin is going to be rooting for a different bird this season. With the exception of Kevin's WRs, bench is a bit thin and Chris Johnson is off to a slooooow start again.

4. Tuna - At Number 4, but has upside to move up. Aaron Rodgers is not going to face a top 3 defense every week by definition, though week 2 will be a challenge vs. Bears. Great depth at WR and serviceable RB backups means Tuna can sustain scoring throughout the season.

5. Victor - Painful loss to Kevin despite scoring 87 points. Life is good when you hit the QB draft jackpot twice. But RGIII is not for sale at this time, Donny and Andrew. Starting running back situation not the best, since their teams may be playing from behind most of this season.

6. Hai - Lucked his way into a win despite 3rd lowest score of the week (opposite of Victor's 3rd highest score getting a loss). However, the low scoring output was more due to poor managing efficiency, which means talent is present. The WR corps is deep but this may make it a challenge to decide which ones to start. Stevan Ridley is legit and is a better play than old and slow Turner at this point, so at least Hai's RB situation is clearer.

7. Katy - Has a very similar team profile compared to Hai's. Lots of solid WRs, 2 QBs who can light up the scoreboard one week and give single digits the next, and a reputation for scheduling luck. RBs are a bit more unsettled, though Katy has one of the best defenses in the league.

8.  Donny - Despite scoring the least, Donny has upside since Alfred Morris is a legit starter and I don't think his WRs are going to lay a goose egg in the TD department again next week. One thing going against Donny is that despite earning #1 Waiver Wire in the first week, there are no players that stand out as "must-have" in the free agent pool.

9. Lily - A possible explanation for starting Redman of BJGE would be reputations of the defenses they were facing. However, I think it's because Lily has been on the road too much hobnobbing with cleantech CEOs and other VIPs in Napa Valley. On the brighter side, 49er defense only face 2 teams with strong offensive reputations in their next 8 games.

10. Andrew - Is it a coincidence that last year's finalists are in the bottom 2 of this poll? I think not. Complaisance is hella of a drug. Yes, 79 points is a very respectable outing but that was one putrid bench out there. I don't think Andrew has constructed a sustainable team. With his next 2 matchups vs. PJ and Kevin, Andrew has a good chance to start 0-3.
