There is a new feature on CBS Sports that's called Assistant GM (Beta). When you go to set your lineup, you'll see a tab for it. Click on the "+" symbol for further suggestions. It tries to identify which of your starting players are expected to turn in a below average performance, and then offers suggestions to correct it, either by subbing, trading, or free agent adds. While nice in theory, there is a bit of work left to be done, as you can see from the following examples:
When I start Jabbar Gaffney:
"Trade Orton, Kyle QB DEN to Omnivores for Johnson, Andre WR HOU. Then activate him to replace Gaffney, Jabar WR DEN".
OR
"Trade Greene, Shonn RB NYJ to Notre Dame Fat Chicks for Harvin, Percy WR MIN. Then activate him to replace Gaffney, Jabar WR DEN"
When I start Malcom Floyd:
"Trade Charles, Jamaal RB KC to Man, I better watch what I say for Driver, Donald WR GB. Then activate him to replace Floyd, Malcom WR SD"
If I start Shonn Greene over Frank Gore:
"Trade Gore, Frank RB SF to Rainbow Bridge for Peterson, Adrian RB MIN. Then activate him to replace Greene, Shonn RB NYJ"
If I start Kyle Orton over Tony Romo:
"Trade Romo, Tony QB DAL to Omnivores for Manning, Eli QB NYG. Then activate him to replace Orton, Kyle QB DEN"
To be fair, it does sometimes suggest reasonable actions, like starting Frank Gore over Shonn Greene when I put Greene as my starter. But a lot of those trade ideas are preposterous to the point of insulting the other party. For now, it seems like a tool only fantasy noobs or truly desperate owners can use. Unless you want to have a good laugh.
