Yes, a lot of you are disappointed I didn't do a power ranking in the last 2 weeks. I was away with very limited internet access, traveling the 49th state. Here are some Alaskan inhabitants I met on the way. While this doesn't make up for the lack of blog postings, feel free to share the cute sea otter photos with your significant others. Now on to the rankings:
1. Kevin - Two dominant performances in the first two weeks. Has the highest scoring QB, RB, and WR in the league so far. Even scarier: Jahvid Best and Hakeem Nicks are not even his #1 players. Kevin's bench alone would have defeated 6 other teams this past week.
2. Hai - So the honeymoon cruise had no effect on his team. I don't know the details of Hai's controversial win in week 1, but the record says 2-0. Buying in on the Steelers' turnaround has been very profitable. Hai's next 4 games are against teams in the bottom half of power rankings, so he could well be off to a 6-0 start.
3. Lily - If not for the unlucky scheduling against Kevin in week 1, Lily would have been sharing the Caucasian lead with a 2-0 record. Savvy drafting of Foster and pickup of Brandon Jackson makes her team a complete roster of startable players. Only iffy defenses prevent her team from being an imposing matchup for any opponent.
4. Tuna - Being all-in with the Packers' passing offense shall reap dividends for Tuna in the next 3 weeks: Chicago, Detroit, and Washington have all showed iffy pass defenses so far. Matt Forte is looking like a stud catching all those TD passes.
5. PJ - Probably believes he deserves the #2 spot. Could well have been 2-0, and has arguably a better team than last season. But I'm penalizing PJ in the rankings for putting in Ronnie Brown against the Minn run defense instead of LeSean McCoy against Detroit in the line-up.
6. Bill - Lack of production at WR, underachieving RB starters, and a disappointing Eagles defense has Bill being in the unfamiliar position of being a non-contender for the division lead so far. Team seems to lack the upside scoring power it had during the past two years.
7. Katy - Great pickup of Mike Vick, who basically was responsible for more than half her scoring (if you count Desean Jackson's points). First victory of the season was vintage Team Katy, with a close win against an under-managed Asian team.
8. Donny - The reverse of Lily's 1-1 record. Only lucked into a win because he faced the lowest scoring team in week 1's Toilet Bowl. Has RBs who don't find the endzone and WRs who don't give much yardage. One silver lining: Donny has been an effective manager, ranking 2nd in the league.
9. Victor - In a bind with two of his four RBs in a RBBC situation and didn't get their handcuffs during the offseason. What' worse is his atrocious 69% managerial efficiency having his best WR of the week on the bench so far. Will Victor's return to the real world make a difference?
10. Andrew - Surrendered the season already? Didn't replace Ryan Grant in his lineup despite a season-ending injury. In fact, hasn't made a lineup change since the start of the season despite the presence of Portis and Pierre Thomas on the bench. The next Larry?
