Last weekend, the Duongs held their annual golf outing. Hai and I were on the same team and we, especially me, crapped the bed big-time. I played my worst I've ever played in the last few years. Our team deservedly came in last. Lily and her husband, though faring not much better, won the team competition since they were paired with the best player of that day and her husband. Just like in Fantasy Football, it's not just how you do but who you're paired up with that matters (cough, Katy, cough). With that in mind, I'm not weighing heavily on W-L yet.
1. Kevin - When you bench the best-performing RB AND QB of the week AND still have high score of the week, that's a seriously loaded roster you're fielding. If Kevin had started Schaub and Chris Johnson, he would have shattered the single game score record by 18 points at 147 points and margin of victory by 5 points, a 90 point margin!
2. Bill - Bill is going to ride the Drew Brees train till les bon temps arretent. Given New Orleans' schedule, there probably only 2or 3 tough pass defenses (NYJ, NYG, WAS) until the playoffs. But running back depth maybe not the same as in past years.
3. PJ - This may be a delusional rating, but PJ has arguably the best bench (Flacco, Celek, Cadillac) in the league. It's also for props on his rumor-mongering ability, second only to Michael Scott. Not BS - Ronnie Brown.
4. Hai - Won the rematch of the FADUCO 2008 finals by scoring the same number of points (85). But depth outside QB is a concern as the bye weeks shall be coming soon. For now, starters are the most solid in the Asian division so he gets the top seed but this may not last for long.
5.5. Donny - Let's see, Donny scored 63 points right after I posted that 63 points was the 50-percentile score in FADUCO and he scored 60 points the week before that. Donny's record of 1-1 also is split through the middle. I'm going to go down the middle for Donny's ranking as well.
6. Victor - Despite an 0-2 record, Victor did score the third-most points this past week. Weakness at #2 WR and TE spots are something that can be overcome through the advantageous waiver wire position. And word from the street is that Victor is less emo now and is starting to pay attention to fantasy a bit more.
7. Katy - Yes, Team Katy has the best record in the Asian division but one of those wins was a classic "Toilet-bowl" matchup between the #9 and #10 scoring teams of the week. Loss of McNabb and Westbrook without sterling backups or handcuffs will hurt going forward.
8.Tuna - Speaking of consistently average, Tuna has scored 58 points in each of his outing so far. That's below the magic 63 points and this team is less Ruthless, more Rueful. Running backs have been a disappointment, though there will be weeks when Tuna's team devastates the other team (ie., whenever Green Bay's passing offense clicks).
9. Lily - Can't blame bad luck for week 2. WRs are going to be better with Boldin getting healthier and Dustin Keller is a solid TE. Don't know if it was foresight or plain luck getting the Jets D. Pre-draft decision to trade McFadden is coming back to haunt this team, as her RB2 may force her to play 3 WRs.
10. Andrew - What happened to the Dark Side of the Force? Is it now just a feeble mantra of some Sith-wannabes? Can't entirely blame the all-in Patriots roster. Donny in his other league also has Brady and Moss, but instead of getting low score of the week, Donny won his game. Week 3 matchup vs. Lily - "Toilet Bowl II"?
