My Sister's Draft

As rehearsal, I attended my sister's fantasy draft and gave her advice for her picks. Her husband's brother also helped. In this 10-person league, you start 3 WRs AND a Flex WR/RB, so there's only 5 bench positions. It's even more WR-friendly in that you get a point per reception. They also had individual defense players but they don't matter much in terms of relative scoring power according to her. She had the second overall pick, and decided she wanted Tom Brady over my strong preference for getting Brian Westbrook. Boo! However, she was more willing to follow my advice in the later rounds. Here are her picks (These picks are roughly in the order, I may be off one or two rounds). Interestingly, there are 5 women in this league, and the defending champion is a girl.

1. Tom Brady (QB) [NOT my pick, esp. since passing TDs are only 4 pts]
2. Marques Colston (WR) [all the stud RBs were gone, so I loaded up on stud WRs instead]
3. Larry Fitzgerald (WR)
4. Willis McGahee (RB) [A bargain as a late 4th round pick if he is able to play the 1st game of the season]
5. Matt Forte (RB)
6. Selvin Young (RB) [both the brother-in-law and I are broncos fans]
7. Jericho Cotchery (WR) [Counting on Favre to boost this guy's stats]
8. Lendale White (RB)
9. Todd Heap (TE) [She wanted him over Vernon Davis, it's her call]
10. Patrick Crayton (WR) [Not really high, but her brother-in-law was bullish on him]
11. Anthony Gonzalez (WR) [This was more of my pick]
12. Felix Jones (RB) [When I told her who he was, she wanted to draft him]
13. Ronald Curry (WR) [Should have drafted a Defensive player here, but she wanted to fill her bench first]
14. Patrick Kearney (DL) [Dang, Antonio Cromartie would have been available in 13th round]
15. Ed Reed (DB)
16. Jason Taylor (D) [Believe it or not, she didn't know Jason Taylor was in Dancing with the Stars]
17. Nate Kaeding (K)
18. Green Bay (DST) [It was either this or Tampa Bay available. She actually considered Detroit and I had to talk her out of that.]

I am bullish on Crayton also.

Fortunate to get McGahee in the 4th. Otherwise would have been hurting at RB. Brady second overall is a reach but given her current hormonal state we will give her a pass.

Why does Vic have a hard-on for Anthony Gonzalez this year?

Anthony Gonzalez = mega upside if Harrison is gets too old. Also, had I started him against Kevin in the playoffs, I would have won (I'm not bullshitting this last sentence).

I would have beaten Andrew in the playoffs if I would have started Kurt Warner over Tom Brady. It doesn't mean I'm going to draft Warner.

Don't let the past taint the future...

I like your love of BW. This is the year that both eagles and NDFC are going all the way.
