FADUCO Week 1 Power Rankings

First week has passed, and we've seen several injuries that look to make a significant fantasy impact. That said, let's go to the rankings:

1. Tuna - Top scorer of the week, and defeated the defending champion in a high-scoring battle. Kudos for believing in Lamont Jordan, and Marshawn Lynch seems like the real deal. Brady-Moss tandem is going to be sick. However, Tuna faces some difficult matchups with his starting RBs in week 2. Also on the negative side, little depth at WRs, and Cowboys D will get worse with the injury to their starting Nose-Tackle, who plays a vital role in the Cowboys' 3-4 defense.

2. Kevin - As I said at the start, this is a very well-balanced team. Addai is off to a nice start, and Kevin made the right call starting Cutler over Rivers. Santonio Holmes lived up to sleeper status, and Andre Johnson looks to be even better than last year. Todd Heap had 2 chances for TDs last night, and was robbed in one and f'd up the other one. But at least he's getting goal-line looks. Forget about passing against the Denver D, if they can hold Lee Evans to 5 yards, think of what they'll do to the Raiders passing in week 2 at home.

3. Victor - Well, last year he started 1-2 and finished strong. But this is not the same juggernaut team. Larry Johnson doesn't look like a stud with the inept KC coaching and offense. There are rumors Victor may start Deuce McCallister (gasp!) over LJ. If the Bears can "hold" LT to under 75 yards, think of what they'll do to LJ at Chicago in week 2. However, Victor's defense will face another relatively weak offense and he's been told Eagles passing will be better at home against the Redskins.

4. Katy - Excelled in week 1, but several clouds linger. Most notably, it will be doubtful that Plexico Burress can repeat his performance with the second-string QB throwing to him for the next month or so. McNabb is not yet up to speed fully yet. On the positive side, with 2 strong RBs, Katy should still be very competitive.

5. Andrew - New regime won the first battle and has even talked smack with its fellow division rivals, most notably PJ. This is a new confidence not seen since the stone age. Romo will have to be involved in shootouts since Dallas' D sucks. Bears D will tee off against KC in week 2. But all is not dreamy. The New Regime put a handcuff on Brandon Jacobs, but it turns out his backup is Derrick Ward instead of Reuben Droughns. The #2 WR spot is seriously in need of improvement. For now at least, this team is no longer the automatic underdog it used to be.

6. Hai - Putting aside the small fact that Hai, aka. Casino Royale, scored the 2nd lowest points of the week and won, his team isn't as bad as it looked in week 1. Steven Jackson will improve his running game. Had Hai gone the Cowboy way and put in Barber and Witten, he would have had a very respectable score. 49er defense looks for real, and Eagles will be a great start against the Redskins in week 2. However, I must question why Hai started Cedric Benson over Barber knowing the Chargers D is much better than the Giants D. Was he distracted during his trip to North/South Carolina and didn't examine his roster closely?

7. Bill - Last year, LT also had a relatively slow start. It looks to repeat itself as the Chargers face the Patriots in week 2. By investing heavily in the Chargers, Bill may well face an 0-2 start. Norv Turner vs. Bill Belichick? No video cheating is needed for that matchup. If either Ahman Green or MJD get hurt, Bill will have no depth at RB, as Chester Taylor is injured. At least Drew Brees can't get worse than his week 1 performance, and Bill is pretty set at WR.

8. PJ - Every year, PJ puts together a decent team on paper and then mismanages it royally to come up with painful "what-if" losses. Week 1 was no different as he left future-and-present stud Adrian Peterson on the bench and started Thomas Jones, who had injury questions and who faced the Pats. At least Alex Smith is not yet a polished product yet so starting Hasselbeck won't be a difficult decision for PJ. PJ still has the strongest pair of WRs in the league. But Dolphins face a difficult matchup in week 2 vs. the Cowboys.

9. Larry - Usually when you start a defense that faces the QB you start, one or the other will perform well. Unfortunately for Larry that was not the case in week 1, where both Young and the Jacksonville defense put up mediocre numbers. Larry was undone by gross inefficiencies at the QB and defense spot in week 1, but at least for the next month, it'll be Vince Young or bust as Manning is injured. Note to all FADUCO'ers: ALWAYS start your defense if it faces the following teams: Atlanta, KC, Cleveland.

10. Donny - When your starting RBs and WRs combine for 10 points, you know it's not good. When your starting QB loses his LT for the season, you know it's not good. When you fail to crack the 50 point mark, you know it's not good. But at least the Redskins won in week 1, you have the first pick in the "waiver wire" round, and your first round draft pick delivered (albeit on the bench), so it's all good.
