Congratulations to Katy and Bill for clinching playoff spots. The final week of the regular season will see an exciting matchup between a resurgent Donny and a hot-and-cold Kevin for the final playoff spot. From a 20% chance of making the playoffs 3 games ago, Donny now has about a 62% chance of winning based on his breakdown record vs. Kevin. Three weeks ago, Donny turned down a trade offer with me for the Bears. In the blog, my 20% estimate probably was rosier than his own estimate, so he decided not to throw in the towel on the season; Donny being a gambling man and all that. Kudos for sticking it out.
Meanwhile, much irony in the Kevin-Tuna game. Kevin's true Eagles fandom was put into question. The winning 4 point margin was provided by Tuna's Eagles defense (a tie would have given Kevin a victory). So we don't know if Kevin is glad the Eagles kept their playoff hopes alive or upset that they severely reduced his own chances to make the FADUCO playoffs.
On the upper tier side, Bill showed his dominance over Victor, firmly establishing him as the betting favorite to win it all. In fact, Victor's low score of the week performance may be showing the cracks in Victor's team mojo post-trade with PJ.
So as it stands:
Victor: Assured of #1 seed if he beats Larry, or scores 3 more points than Bill.
Bill: Assured of at least #2 seed. Can get the #1 seed if he wins and Victor loses by the margin above.
Katy: Can end up anywhere from #4 to #2 seed. At worst, she'll make the playoffs as the #4 seed if she loses and Kevin wins.
Kevin: Need to beat Donny. If he does, can end up either with #3 or #4 seed.
Donny: Need to beat Kevin. If he does, will end up with #4 seed.
Oh yeah, I nearly forgot. Important reminder: This is also the week of the FADUCO all-star matchups. Given that Hai will be choosing for the Asians, I am not to optimistic on the Asians' chances this year vs. Larry's Caucasian lineup.
Here are my nominees for the all-star team:
Peyton Manning
Larry Johnson
Steve Smith
