Auction drafting tomorrow

My sister and her husband are doing an auction draft for their fantasy league tomorrow night. I'm invited as my sister's advisor. Last season, I was a guest drafter for a team in that league, but the team fell apart when the guy dropped Tatum Bell for Reggie Brown before the season started and his #1 RB Deuce McCallister went out with an injury later. With the auction format, I'm not experienced in the strategic aspects like which kinds of player you should nominate and how much budget should be expended after the first X rounds. We'll see. Personally, I'd invest in four core sure-thing players and fill out the rest with sleepers and cheap buys like kickers and team defenses. What I would think is the worst case is having money left over at the end. I'd rather try to get $1 buys for my last 3 picks than end up with like 5% of money left over.

Don't make the same mistake Kevin did the first time he did an auction baseball draft. He was scared to bid on the stud players and ended up with $6 unspent out of a $26 salary cap. Needless to say, his team looked like a minor league team.
