High Risk for Vikings Pickup

After saying so in this very blog, I disregarded my advice on the high risk of picking up the Vikings due to the potential of arrests. I only hope the indictments come after next Tuesday. The Viking's matchup against Detroit was too tempting to resist. Mr. Commissioner, if one has 4 players from a defense arrested or indicted simultaneously, is that a $4 fine or just the one-time $1 variety?

MINNEAPOLIS -- Results of the investigation into a boat party involving members of the Minnesota Vikings are now in the hands of a prosecutor, who will consider possible charges.

Prosecutor Steve Tallen said that on Wednesday he received an inch-thick file about the Oct. 6 party aboard a pair of charter boats on Lake Minnetonka. The attorney representing the boat owners and crew has said the party included sex acts and other lewd behavior.

Tallen is the prosecuting attorney for the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District, which handles non-felony crimes committed on the lake. He'll decide whether anyone should be charged with a misdemeanor.

Tallen said a decision could come as early as next week.

Vikings executive Lester Bagley told WCCO-TV that the organization has cooperated and is awaiting results of the investigation.
