I haven't been able to post updates since I've been thrown into the fire at work. There's no easy training cushion, I've been given real assignments since yesterday afternoon. So far, I haven't been overwhelmed in terms of knowing what to do. I also have a co-worker who's very experienced and knows his technical stuff, and he's been very helpful. So far, the work is pretty interesting, and I'm learning a lot about the retail energy business by going through all these annual reports. People also seem to be pretty nice to me here. I met a guy who's an even bigger Maryland fan than Hai.
On the bad news side, it's taken some time for me to get access to the network due to strict security protocols. And the software they use here is rather out-of-date. The IT guy made it clear to me that they do not use Firefox, so that puts a damper in my web browsing. (I do have to do a lot of data gathering on the web for legit purposes). Office 97, that's even older than the county stuff I had. Though it is a lot more stable than Office 2000, I'll give them that. I also have to use a laptop instead of desktop, since we do visit the other site office in Virginia often. Oh well, nothing new there, I did fine in the 2 years at B-school with a laptop.
Now on to FADUCO stuff: I am still debating whether to keep Steven Jackson or Andre Johnson. My secret research website is up and running, but I haven't had the chance to pay for it yet, maybe I'll do that later tonight. I'll also try to predict everyone's keeper (except for PJ, who's already publicly declared).
