I was in Border's yesterday and saw that most of the major NFL preview magazines are out. The major fantasy guides are not out yet, but most of you may be interested in at least browsing through the team previews to see how the teams shape up for the upcoming season. I always buy one to get up to speed on the new season, and it makes great reading material while waiting in those slow-pace Montgomery county golf courses. The preview mag is not, however, my main research material.
I bought the Sporting News one over Lindy's, Athlon, Street and Smith and some other ones. The team capsules are well-organized by position, there's no fluff about cheerleaders (hey if you want awesome hot pics, go to each team's website), there is a little stud-sleeper-stumbler capsule for each team, the roster shows how many games a player played last season, and there are team stats rankings for last season . In addition, the Sporting News was the only one out of the mags mentioned above that had the news about Onterro Smith being suspended for the year, so it was the most up-to-date one. As a bonus, for you Eagle fans, the cover in the east coast version has McNabb on it.
