Injury issues in FADUCO

Around a bit halfway past the season, let's see how injuries have affected each team in FADUCO. Ratings will be in Japanese Ogre / Goblin emoji ๐Ÿ‘นto symbolize bad luck. Going by alphabetical order of team name since I'm too lazy to re-sort the FADUCO website order.

Bad News Bear (Justin) - ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น

Saquon Barkley injury issues affected a few of Justin's starts. And Robert Tonyan has been a big bust, directly leading to a week 6 loss with his zero points.  But since week 6, Justin has scored 90 points or better and looks set with a solid starting core for now after picking up Dallas Goedert to replace Tonyan and benching Barkley. So future outlook a lot more bright than Justin's poor 2-4 start to the season.

Bless the Rice Gods (Victor) - ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น

On the surface, Victor has seen a lot of players in his roster with missed games and IR issues. However, the weren't all concurrent and have had limited impact so far. The one notable game involved mid-game injuries which caused Victor to lose his first match versus Tuna. Going forward, Victor's depth in RBs and TEs have helped him weather the storm so far, but there is little margin for bye week replacements.

Buffalo Wings (Hai) - ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น

When you lose the #1 draft pick  for almost the entire season so far, it's hard to recover. While Hai did draft the handcuff for McCaffrey, Hubbard has been no where as good. And now, Aaron Rodgers is out due to COVID, and Hai has to hope his waiver wire QB lands. Maybe Byron knew all along what he was doing when he dropped Rodgers.

Dancing Cowboys (Kevin) ๐Ÿ‘น

As of today, Kevin's roster only shows one "+" on his roster. While Darren Waller has been out one game and underachieving compared to his preseason ranking, Waller hasn't directly mattered in the outcome of Kevin's games. But look out for Kyler Murray's ankle - he's day to day this week.

I own Victor (Tuna) - ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น

Things were going swimmingly for Tuna until last week with Derrick Henry's injury and now being out for the rest of the FADUCO season. However, Tuna arguably has the best RB depth in the league and a duo of Jonathan Taylor and Austin Eikeler is still studly. Michael Carter is emerging as a viable backup but Kareem Hunt is still in the IR. Tuna has  avoided serious injury issues for his WR corps as well.

I'm a Banana (PJ) - ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น

Kind of Victor on the surface in that his bench have a lot of injuries. But he does have some RB depth and this week's bye week for him doesn't hurt PJ as much. Also, none of his players are on the IR currently. If anything, it'll help him simplify his starting decisions. With the 8th ranked managing efficiency, that's a good thing for PJ.

Latino Light (Byron) - ๐Ÿ‘น

We all laughed at Byron's draft day moves. But he may be having the last laugh. He has only one "+" on his roster, and that's the scrub WR he picked up as a good luck charm. So Byron effectively has the healthiest roster in the league. What else to explain a 4-4 record and still being in contention despite all the draft day bad picks? Maybe Byron is the Kyser Soze of FADUCO....

POD (Donny) - ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น

After a promising 3-1 start, Donny has sank and lost 4 in a row. The low point was last week, where he failed to even beat Tuna's 60 points. Not so coincidentally, Russell Wilson and CEH have been out for Donny after week 5. And Nick Chub was out in weeks 6 and 7. Also, Antonio Gibson has had shin issues and has underachieved throughout the season despite being able to play.  Looks like Donny is now limited to being a spoiler, it's been a lost season for him so far.

Tall Asian (Vu) - ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น

Speaking of lost seasons, I'm factoring in Vu's negligence in this assessment. Last week, Vu had Davante Adams out due to COVID, and did not start either Stephon Diggs or Adam Thielen, who had bye weeks the previous week. He also kept the Steelers on the bench due to their previous week bye. If he started both WRs and Pittsburgh, he would have beaten Hai. Basically, any injuries to his team get magnified when Vu doesn't bother subbing them out.

The Real Slim Brady (Matt) - ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น

And the prize to worst luck so far this season goes to Matt. His team isn't bad, but a combination of unfortunate matchups and untimely injuries have led to a 2-6 season, tied with Vu for worst. Unlike Vu, Matt does care but has been hobbled with key injuries to his RBs (Kareem Hunt and Chris Carson) and TE. Basically, Tom Brady is carrying this team only so far.
